Default TPMS!

in addition to the stock wheels that have the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system), ive purchased and installed a set of wheels, Falken Torque 5's wrapped in Falken Azenis), which are not TPMS compatible. as a result, the TPMS icon on the instrument panel flashes constantly about every three seconds. obviously, this gets kind of annoying. is there anything i can do to shut off this warning light to keep it from burning out completely, and also from driving me crazy?

Most likely you could remove the bulb in the instrument cluster. I'm pretty sure the inner shroud pulls straight out, then there should be a couple of screws holding the cluster assembly in the Instrument Panel. You may have access to the bulbs from the backside of the cluster. (I'm not 100% positive though.)

ive got my stock wheels back on for about 1000 miles now (which are tire pressure monitoring system compatible). however, the tpms warning light is still constantly flashing about every three seconds. the tires are inflated to 36psi. i know if the warning system actually detects something wrong with the psi, it should stay lit. if nothing is wrong, it stays off. but if it cannot detect the monitoring system in the wheel/tire assembly, it just flashes. why might the light keep flashing even though im running the tpms compatible wheels?

I don't know that much about the TPMS but they do seem like more trouble and expense thatthey're worth sometimes. I'm glad mine doesn't have that feature.
Since you were having exactly the same issues when using theFalken wheels, perhaps the ECU (or something electronic) needs to be reset?

It has to be reset. There is a special tool for the job compatible with all TPMS cars.

im laughin cuz disconnecting the battery to reset all the electronics is common sense. i had to do the same thing when installing my cai. its not a "special tool".
