Thats the plan!!!! I have 3 boys lol. The oldest who is 8 is getting the ae86 in the background. My middle one is getting the 71 datsun 510 in the picture he is 5. and then the youngest the rx7. They already love to come out to the shop and help as much as they can and I love it. Also my brothers rx7 on the lift is a 10th anniversary so we are trying to keep as many going as we can. Thanks for the positivity will post pics of the progress once we get started on it
Very cool guys! Our kids are going to rock the rotary world and that's awesome!
Unfortunately there are many dishonest and desperate to be trendy people out there, and because of these situations that seem to be increasing, no longer will cars with new stickers be allowed on the registry list or owners club.
People are altering and outright removing door ID tags on their slick top cars for popularity or financial gain.
I am often informed of these fake models, false claims and scam shops trying to get more attention by claiming they have rare builds.
However it is always just a shop trying to get attention, a person seeking to scam someone with a sale or a jealous person wishing they had. They tend to be the loudest against requiring proof like teddy:
Bill and Ted have been the loudest voices in screaming door ID tags are not proof because they do not have a GTUs and if proof is required to back up their claims, they cannot provide any.
Same applies to the restamped models. The rumors are laid to rest, there are only people with discredited threads and opinions now while we try to seek more!
We have found and confirmed the 2nd restamped GTUs model and the 14th confirmed legitimate GTUs model! Very interesting this car has the same pin striping, wrong gtu sticker and bad paint as this one: https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/maz...i-build-43602/
The restamped part is really cool. Out of the 100 GTUs models created, several of them were stuck in transit and arrived late being given a new years vin number and released with the remaining 90s: https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/maz...zda-rx7-45926/

1989 gtus black over black have read recently that it is rare.
i have in my ownership a near complete 1989 gtus with matching "k" vin which i was told some have an l stamp but then read in another place there are only 100 known gtus cars of either k or l vin.. can validate provide picture dont have one right now but the car is literally feet from me. still og black over black gtus has been under roof for 11 years with a little under 100k miles on original engine.
This cherry GTUs makes the 16th legitimate registered model! Out of the 100 K and L stamps made between 1989 and 1990 this is one of the nicest models to remain!
I just bought that car. It is indeed in pretty good shape.
Welcome to the GTUs owners club! Not many of them around and you surely did snag up one amazing specimen! It seems we were both Interested in it and you got it from me at the last moment!
That kinda brings up next point and the misinformation still occurring.
Prices these days are skyrocketing! With the fc going up in demand the rare and pristine models will be the most valuable! The whole rx7 community is in shock over the prices 😲 63,000$ Which makes those with higher miles worth half that. Even the wrecked and restored ones hit record sales prices. And the GTUs and Initial D White Comet are why these prices! So now we can see the prices for these rare models increase as the awareness of the rarity and desire for these models increases.
