Now this registry list is for those who would like to have a record of this car for historical value. The thread is to inform those who have and choose not to register to have the information that will allow them to prove their model is rare and legitimate.

If you see a GTUs for sale and it does not meet this threads requirements for proof, it is not a real GTUs. Those selling a real GTUs will use this information as their selling point.

There are currently 18 legitimate GTUs models found and registered out of the 100 Mazda has created.

To confirm you have a real GTUs model the Vin will not tell you, the code GS2P was given to all factory order models. Meaning any car custom ordered by the customer through the dealership will hold this code, the GTUs was a dealership option that received this code.

So not all GS2P cars are GTUs models but all GTUs models are GS2P coded.

This is similar to the 10AE Turbo II being identical in Vin to all normal 1988 turbo II models, only the paint code being the distinguishing difference.
