I just purchased a 1997 Protege 1.5/5 speed. I am taking care of a few repairs and one thing I noticed is that the shifter feels worn and a little loose - when in gear it wags side to side as if it were in neutral. How much of the shifter mechanism needs to be replaced to fix this?

 

I found a shifter bushing kit that should take care of the problem. Will probably order from CorkSport.
