I have a 91 Protege, 5 speed, roughly 189,000 miles on it. Coming home from work the other day, when going into 4th gear the engine revs up for a few seconds before taking off. It done this several times when shifting in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I have drove the car several times since and it has been fine. Thinking the clutch is wearing out. I have heard about adjusting the clutch but am not sure on this car. Looking for some input on this. Can the clutch be adjusted or does it need to be replaced?
One more thing, I was looking for the fluid resevior for the clutch but had no luck finding it.
