Question No Music and No dome light?

I had a new radio installed in my 1998 Mazda protégé LX and the guy told me that two wires touched and made a popping sound and had a bad burn smell. The radio and dome light come on, I checked all the fuses and all of them were good does anyone have any other ideas?

you are confusing me. first you say No radio /dome light, than you say they come on.

the guy was too lazy to disconnect the battery. Follow the wires, follow the smell.

try turning up your dash lights dimmer.
if that does not work take it back to the installer.

if you know how to uninstall the radio, check the red wire comming out of the back of the headunit, sometimes it will have a small inline fuse that might have blown out. or you might have somthing wired wrong.
