I've searched and can not find any other post on how to.

my alt. belt broke, so I figured I'd replace both belts. I have the belts, but after looking at the belt/pulley system, I do not see an easy way to replace these puppies. I was hoping to find a tensioner to undo and swap out the belts and... wa la. No such luck.

Any Ideas ? What is the trick to this go cart?

loosen the alternator and power steering pump, this should release the tension from the belts so you can pull them off. Check the tension of both belts so you know how much tension you need to put back onto the new belts.

for the alternator, is it easier to loosen from the underside?

Kinda looks like it from what I have seen from the top.

 

yeah, there isnt even enough room to get the alt out from the top if you wanted to take it out.
