Check engine light - Code P0455
Hi everyone, I am new here and need some information regarding a P0455 code that was pulled from my 2001 Mazda Protege 2.0 LX.
A few weeks ago I had the P0455 code (Evap control system leak detected) along with a P0304 (Cylinder 4 misfire condition detected). I went to a local repair shop. They replaced the gas cap, the ignition coil and spark plug wire set. Everything seems to run fine, the only issue I have is with the check engine light.
I went and had the codes pulled and the P0455 is the only code that came up. What I was wondering is: Are there any issues with driving the vehicle until I can get it looked at? Also can anyone suggest what I should do next with it.
I do remember having an issue with this back in May of 2009 and basically was told that it may be "wiring broken from gas tank to canister drain cut valve". They replaced the canister drain cut valve and the issue persisted and then put the old one back on. They were going to replace the wiring but could not do that for a few days due to it being the weekend when it happened. The issue went away and never returned until now.
Thanks,
