Default 03 Protege5 Timing Belt Re/Re

Hi all,

Currently in the middle of a timing belt replacement on the wife's P5. I've finished installing a new water pump, idler/tensioner pulleys.

Posting this thread in hopes that some of the bright ladies and gents of this forum might gift some of their wisdom my way, with the thought that it might help me get this damn timing belt on properly.

I have scoured the depths of the internet for every damn Protege timing belt guide to be found, I've watched Protege timing belt install videos, and I have slipped this belt on and off enough times to drive myself mad.

I did get the cam sprocket timing marks aligned, belt on, slipped lower timing belt cover on and crank pulley only to realize the crank is way out of time. Since that attempt I've tried a dozen more times only to have that damn crank shaft move out of time over and over.

I know half of it is my being tired and getting frustrated... Oh, and early on there was that repeated vibrating in my pants that continued after taking my phone out of my pocket which is when I realized something ain't right, took a peek down my drawers to find an absolutely massive Bald-faced Hornet literally crawling on my genitals, which turned into a whole lot of stripping down and screaming every swear I know.

Anyone able to share their own method for getting that belt on just right?
