yea i double checked last nite.. i have 2 different lights in the dash. one is for the e- brake and the other is for rear brake lights. at the bottom of the master cylinder where u put the fluid is 2 wires 6 inches long and going to a plug. i believe that is for if ur low on fluid. i disconnected the plug and light still comes on. i was wandering about the switch down by the brake pedal. but im not sure how to check that. maybe just disconnect it and see if the light still comes on

Default sorry I thought you were referring to a mx3

I thought you were referring to a mx3 as well, I read it wrong.

If the light has only come on recently after a brake pads job then odds are you let air into the system so just do a good gravity bleed job all around or if you're lucky enough, use a vacuum- forced tool. I would think this will solve your problems. Also just check for any leaks while you're down there. Best of luck.

Well, that eliminates hand brake trouble...
I agree, bleeding the brakes may fix it. The sensor on the pedal is for the lights. disconnect it, and you'll likely just lose brake lights. the sensor on the master cylinder is for fluid, but i believe its a pressure switch, so variances in fluid viscocity would affect it's readings also. Disconnecting it would cause an indication of low fluid, turning on the light...
