Unhappy Was recall part the correct one?

I have a 2003 Mazda MPV, V6. The fan control module was replaced in '05 under recall. I know sometimes the wrong parts can be used (i.e. the defectively designed part as opposed to the redesigned part) if not careful. Now the control module is bad AGAIN, as diagnosed by an expert (and trustworthy) mechanic. Mazda will not replace under recall a 2nd time (van is out of warranty, and the part that was replaced is out of parts warranty). HOW can I verify that the proper part was used in '05 by Mazda, i.e. that they did not simply put the original defectively designed (but NEW) part on it? thanks.
