The cruise control in my 2002 MPV has stopped working.

I found that the short cable from the cruise actuator to the wiring harness had gotten crimped and shorted. It appears that it may have taken the actuator module out with it.

The documentation I can find indicates that the short cable is compatible across 2002-2006, so I should be able to use any replacement I can find.

The documentation for the cruise actuator itself, however, is confusing.

The OEM 2002-2003 cruise actuator has an "LD" part number. The OEM 2004-2006 cruise actuator has an "LE" part number.

Some of the documentation indicates that either one can be used for 2002-2006, other documentation indicates that they must be used in their specific years.

Comparing the workshop manual test procedure for the wiring from 2002 and 2005, it appears that they are functionally identical and should be interchangeable.

I can find 2004-2006 actuators, but I have not had any luck so far finding a 2002-2003 unit.

Does anyone know if a 2004-2006 cruise actuator will work in a 2002 model?

IS the LD & LE the last 2 digits in the part number? Is the rest of the part numbers the same? //// If so, its just a supersession from LD to LE, they both will fit & work.

 

The 2002-2003 actuator is LD47-66-310.

The 2004-2006 actuator is LE43-66-310.

Should those be compatible?

 

I doubt it.
