PO 170 & PO 173 codes
Hi All,
these are the codes for our 2002 Millie S. The Auto Zone folks said it is the mass air flow sensor. I see where it is in the compartment, but just acouple things...is this something I can replace on my own, and is there a good source or can I just have Auto Zone order it for me...~$195.00.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey welcome to the forum, did you make sure it is bad? cause i had that code on my milly but its cause i had a vaccum leak after the mass sensor which triped the computer and i found the leak sealed it and instantly the code when away. just an option you can look at..see ya

way to go. throw parts at it till the codes go away. i am continually amazed at what people believe. is it because autozone has a scanner, and can read from a book?
these are fuel trim codes. classic case of vacuum leaks, 50 bucks says it is one or both vacuum tees. the tees are a couple of bucks apiece, but the labor to change them is a few hours. easily done, or impossible, depending on your mechanical expertise. takes me about 2 hours, including breaks. you will have to remove the intake. or you can do like autozone says, replace the mas. but that aint it.

thanks Tbird...I joined about a year ago, and rec'd a ton of help from babyhuey and just have not had any issues since then, but this is just a great forum to get ideas and such. I'll try to verify the cause. Appreciate the heads up.
