Default Codes codes and more codes

Car 2007 Mazda CX 7

The first code I got was P0012 and at the same time my turbo went out the dreaded white smoke. The car sat for 5 weeks while I got the money to fix it. I took it into a local car shop that specialize in turbo cars for repair. When I got it back the car seemed to run fine. I took out to the highway to see what the turbo could do and when I get on it the engine seems to cut out then go cut out then go and so on. If I gradually get into it, it has no problems getting up to speed. So I took it back as the CEL came on and they ran a diagnostic test on it and the codes came back P0012 and P0234. Thus far I have changed the VVT solenoid and the camshaft position sensor. I plugged my reader into it today and I now have the following codes. P0012,P2178,P2188 the code P0234 is now gone. Fuel mileage sucks too.

Please help

Clean your maf, search for boost leaks especially in intercooler. Exhaust leaks prior to the O2 sensor can cause those codes. Check your fuel trims.

P0012: click on and scroll down to page 5: http://alflash.com.ua/Learn/mazda_cx7.pdf

If the chain is new its likley the actuator nut as you know The code you have can be caused by several factors. The timing chain is one of them. The oil runners can be clogged, the oil control valve could be stuck, the variable valve timing actuator could also be a problem along with the PCM.The dealer can check the control valve and the timing actuator along with the PCM to make sure they are all working correctly. If they have tested all the above then I would say that the timing chain is your problem..I dont just recommened changing parts with out testing first

I cleaned the MAF nothing changed. I changed the OCV(VVT solenoid same thing from what I'm reading). Taking it to the dealer on Wednesday to have a diagnostic check done. Hopefully it will tell me more.

Did you ever get an answer on this?
I have a 2018 Mazda 3 doing the EXACT same thing!
