PO 170 & PO 173 codes
Hi All,
these are the codes for our 2002 Millie S. The Auto Zone folks said it is the mass air flow sensor. I see where it is in the compartment, but just acouple things...is this something I can replace on my own, and is there a good source or can I just have Auto Zone order it for me...~$195.00. Thanks in advance for the help. Jay ________ Honda NSS250 |

Hey welcome to the forum, did you make sure it is bad? cause i had that code on my milly but its cause i had a vaccum leak after the mass sensor which triped the computer and i found the leak sealed it and instantly the code when away. just an option you can look at..see ya

RE: PO 170 & PO 173 codes
way to go. throw parts at it till the codes go away. i am continually amazed at what people believe. is it because autozone has a scanner, and can read from a book?
these are fuel trim codes. classic case of vacuum leaks, 50 bucks says it is one or both vacuum tees. the tees are a couple of bucks apiece, but the labor to change them is a few hours. easily done, or impossible, depending on your mechanical expertise. takes me about 2 hours, including breaks. you will have to remove the intake. or you can do like autozone says, replace the mas. but that aint it. |

thanks Tbird...I joined about a year ago, and rec'd a ton of help from babyhuey and just have not had any issues since then, but this is just a great forum to get ideas and such. I'll try to verify the cause. Appreciate the heads up.
