Default How to remove Bose stereo in 2001 Millenia

I have a problem with my Bose stereo and i need to be able to remove it from its mount for my cousin to take a look at it and hopefully fix it. However, i don't know how to get it out. I got the wood looking plastic trim around the stereo off easy but i couldn't get pass that step. Does anyone know how to remove this stereo for further inspection? Does it need a special tool like one of those hook tools? Please help....thank you.

I am not familiar with and therefore am not sure, but usually DIN radios will either come outw/screws and brackets attached, or there are places in the side to release the clips that hold them, then they slide out. Usually pretty easy.

yes you will need some "special " radio tools to remove it. you will need a total of 4 U shaped removal tools.
on both sides of the audio unit there is a cover, removing that will expose the holes to insert the tools into
there are 5 holes on each side, insert the tools leaving the middle hole's empty.pull outward on the tools then
gently pull out the unit.
