Default Spark Plug Wires

Bought new wires for my 2003 Shinsen. (1.8) which I bought a few months ago. Two wires came. (NGK) Okay, how do I remove the electrical clips thats in the way of me getting the old wires off, and the old plugs out?. And, which plugs to use? The BKR5E11 or BKR6E11? Owners manual gives me a choice and I don't know why. Any other thing I need to know about doing this? Thanks. Any info would be welcomed.

Can't help you on removing the spark plug wire clips, my 2000's are different from yours.

On the plugs, though, the BKR6 is a colder plug than the BKR5 (NGK #'s are backwards from other brands, higher number is colder). If you drive like your grandmother, run the 5's. If you regularly check to see if the rev limiter is working, run the 6's.

Just noticed the post date. Hope you've had it sorted out for a while.

Thumbs up

Yeah, got the clips off and put in the 5's and the car is running great. The new plug wires I put on made the biggest difference though. Old wires had a couple of mice eating spots on them that I hadn't noticed until I took them off, so the new wires made a TREMENDOUS difference! Thanks for the reply!
