Default CX-90 First look

What do you think?

I'm really liking the idea of the inline six, rear wheel drive bias and 8 speed trany except for the fact it will (probably) be troublesome as most DCT's have been.
I think they should have used the tried and true German ZF8 trany which many consider the best automatic on the market today.

I'm not to crazy about the fabric stuff on the dashboard or the yellow'ish looking wood trim.

I'm not liking the new grill and really prefer the exterior design of the current CX-9.

I really do like the look of the new wheels.

I have read some seven or so CX-90 articles and see no mention of a new transmission beyond 8 speed. This is odd given the last gen achilles’ heel issue was the 6 speed transmission and its slow gear pick in non-sport mode on slow down to speed up. Is Mazda making the DCT? Is the Inline 6 Mazda’s design or shared? Answers to these questions will inform on how many issues will be experienced in model year 2024. Will probably be the best handling large SUV.

The new 8 speed transmission was designed by Mazda. It skips the torque converter for a wet clutch. I’ve heard that it uses the small electric motor to make up for the slower shifting but that’s beyond my automotive engineering prowess.

From the driving reviews I've watched on Youtube, the new 8 speed does not get the best scores. Most say it's smooth shifting but, still has a lag upon quick acceleration. Personally......for the first couple of years I'd stay away from it until all the issues are exposed and corrected.
