I also just got my new 2019 CX9, The lift-gate dash button stopped working (just beeps 3 times). However the key-fob and the gate buttons work fine.
Any ideas as to why ? (maybe some kind of safety issue)

Here is the response by my sales rep on this question.
"The lift gate is locked when the rest of the doors are locked. In order for you to access that the car has to be in Park and all doors unlocked.
Also when the car is running the button on the key fob does not work for safety reasons."

I am currently having a lift gate issue with my 2018 CX-9 GT. It seems to work fine when I use my fob, but when I try to open it from the lift gate button it doesn't seem to want to work. I have locked/unlocked all of the doors in an attempt to work the gate but that doesn't work. I spoke with a service representative today and she suggested I remove the cable from my battery (negative post) and leave of for a short period of time. I did that and I am still unable to work the gate all of the time. Again, no issues with using the remote key fob. I am heading out of province for about three weeks so will set up an appointment when I return home.
On another topic, by removing the negative battery terminal cable I have lost my radio. How do I get it back. In my wife's Acura RDX (we just changed her battery and she had the same issue) she was told all she had to do for the radio to scan for its radio code and set it up automatically, all she had to do was hold down the off/on button for a bit and it will set itself back up. Is there a similar step for the CX-9?
