Central console display on my CX9 2012 stopped working after replacing the battery, it errors out with this message A program cannot be read.
Please consult.to a dealer.
I have tried disconnecting battery and reconnecting, anyone have any clue about this issue?

Very common problem with the older series CX-9.

Is the Satnav DVD still in place?

 

Yep, TOM TOM. Probably the DVD drive died long time ago, SATNAV program was still running from RAM.
Press LOAD /EJECT button maybe it will revive it. In this model, the disk drive is located behind the LCD screen. Check owner's manual.

 

Yes DVD is inside but it spins and spins and then error out.

 

In most cases generally speaking about all DVD players that describes a faulty DVD player.

 

Thanks, you are right it seems DVD drive is not worming as it can’t load the dvd and just spins. I’m thinking to replace the whole thing with Android based system with car play but I’m not sure if my existing camera and steering controls will work?

 

You can buy plug & play harnesses that connect to the steering wheel controls. Not 100% sure on camera integration. Your local car audio store can assist you.
