Heads Up Display Malfunction After Battery Disconnection
Hi everyone,
My 2017 Mazda CX5 had a minor accident which needed some repainting on the outside of the car. However, when I picked up the car after repair, the heads up display system stopped working and looked stuck half way.
The repair technicians onsite told me that they had to disconnect the batteries for their paint job and advised that it could be that the batteries were running low so the HUD cannot function. So they asked me to drive away and allow some time for the batteries to recharge. However, the HUD never came back working.
I sent the car back to the repair centre and asked them to fix it. They did a scan and couldn't find any issues with the HUD from the scan so they sent it to Mazda for a diagnosis. Mazda reported that this is an electrical internal issue so the insurer denied it's their fault and refused to repair it for me.
I now needed to pay $3k AUD to replace the HUD. I am pretty sure they broke it for some reason. Anyone knows how possible they could have it damaged from the battery disconnection? Anything that I could use to prove that they broke it? Or am I just doomed to pay for $3k myself?
Thank you!

Have you tryed in HMI to set it off and back on, and then adjust it in HMI ??
You may have to disconnect the 12v battery again (+ lead), then turn on light switch for 10 sek.to drain capacitors, turn light back off and re-connect, now it should work.
