Hey all,

I just got the new car a few days ago. My friend takes my car often and it irritates me that every time I get in, I have to connect it to my iPhone again. Is there any way to have it connect to my phone automatically every time I get in, instead of having to chose my iPhone or his Android? It’s driving me NUTS!!!

If you go into the Connectivity -> Bluetooth -> Advanced settings menus, there's an option to set up a connection hierarchy so that it prioritizes certain devices over others if multiple saved devices are detected. If your buddy is removing your phone from the list when adding his, first tell him stop being a tool and to just add his phone on top of yours. Second, when both devices are saved to the memory, set your phone as a higher connection priority.

So that way, when your buddy has the car, his phone is already saved, and since yours (I assume) isn't present, it'll connect just fine; and when you have the car, even if both of you (and your phones) are there, it'll default to yours instead.

Note that I haven't actually tried this out, I've just seen these settings in the menus as I browsed through them. It seems like it should work the way I described, but who knows... Give it a try.

There have been some recent software changes regarding the whole pairing of phones, so check with your dealer and see if the updates help. I have seemingly random occasions where the phone won’t connect at all…but only it does connect in Bluetooth for sound only. Again, no issues since the firmware update.
