Default Iphone connect

I have my phone paired with my CX-5 and it always connects with audio and phone. I want it to connect with phone only. I have unpaired and re-paired it many times and it still connects with audio and phone. I have to manually change it every time I get in the car. Has anyone been able to figure out a fix for this? Thanks.

I don't know about apple phones, but I know on android phones there is a setting to allow audio &/or Phone pairing. You my need to talk to a Apple store or specialist.

Mazda assumed you want your phone connected to both data and phone so they didn’t program an option to not connect to something.

I don’t know of other brands that allow for separate phones for data and phone. I think its typically all or nothing with one phone.

Why don’t you want your phone connected for data?

I'm talking about Audio. I want to hear my phone "ding when I get a text or email when driving.
