Hi I have a 2016 model that I bought about a year ago. It always darts first time but you feel like it only just managed to do so. Could it be a weak battery or maybe a starting motor issue?

First thing to do is get your battery "load" tested before doing anything else.
Batteries do not last long in these vehicles generally a 5-year max.
My 2020 lasted only a little over a year.

Repeating what Labstah suggested, the first thing to do regarding any electrical concern is to load test the battery

 

If you don't know when the battery was last replaced (and since you purchased used you likely do not) I would go ahead and buy a new battery so you know exactly when it was installed. Cheap insurance.

and also before you leave the shop you purchase the battery have them load test it in your presents. That could save you a return trip if the battery is actually not up to specification to get it excahnged.
