Software Update Needed
Hi. We've had my wife's 2016 CX-5 for a while now and I don't even know if the software has ever been updated. Unfortunately, it looks like SD card reader in the hub has failed (i.e. the Nav card no longer works...although it can be read in Windows and Mazda Toolbox). I'm tempted to replace hub with newer AA/Carplay version and know I need newer(est) software update. It might also improve BT quality for my wife (she says it sometimes has issues). I know that the software isn't just posted all over the place, but some members may be able to provide it. I believe the latest is 74.----- but don't know exactly. Can someone confirm what the latest software update is and a non-dealer reputable means is to get a cop? I've watched Youtube video and looks pretty easy...hardest part is making sure you don't let 20 minutes lapse nefore tapping brake or opening/closing a door.
Current Software Version - 55.00.753 NA N (I'm not sure if this means I have to do two updates to get to latest or not).
Music - 00.05.00
Thanks.

I had my wife's 2016 converted to CarPlay and she loves it. Though it's not perfect.
My maps SD card failed in the past as well. It was causing the Infotainment system to crash and lock up. The dealer wanted $300+ to replace it. I told them that was robbery. They blamed it on "chip shortages" back then. It's a $5 SD memory card, so they're out of their mind. Just removing it fixed all the glitches.
We really didn't need it since we had CarPlay, so I bought an unofficial one of Amazon for $30 and it worked great. Can't update it using Mazda software but I don't care. I only use it to hear the "you're speeding" alert.
Also, there is some sort of lawsuit, so talk to your dealer. The software update maybe free.

I'd second getting the SD card from Amazon. Did it with both of our CX-5s and had no issues. We wanted to have a backup option in case our phones were not working, plus I got annoyed seeing the blank menu saying to get a card from the dealer lmao.
