Has anyone had an issue with the finish of their stainless finish roof rails becoming hazy? It was difficult to get a good picture of the issue but the haze is on every surface of the roof rails. I've had my 2017 CX-5 for over 4 years. Any ideas on how to make them look better or protect them? Thank you.

 

Polish them.

 

That looks like its the outer coating turning hazy. As suggested try a polish- I like Meguiars Ultimate Polish https://www.meguiars.com/automotive/...6-16-oz-liquid

I assume your car spends a lot of time in the sun?

 

Only in sun while at work, otherwise garaged.

 

If it is out in the sun 5 days a week while at work, that is a lot of UV exposure (and the additional issue of rain on the car followed by sun magnification through the water droplets). Have you tried any of the suggestions here? Did it work?

 

Thanks everyone for the suggestions but I haven't had the time to try anything. I thought these roof rails were metal so I didn't expect them to oxidize. I'll report back after I detail my CX-5.
