Navigation Sim card
LOL auh ok.... LOL
Golley I should expect.
I think maybe someone did not read clearly what my last responses said? I will go edit with bold black print!
If you do not buy the MAZDA (TM) navigation sim card and get the benefits form updates and try to get them from an unauthorized and basically stolen program don't expect the cheat(steeling) Mazda upgrades. It is as simple as that!

I accepted the fact that the aftermarket card would not be able to be updated. That is NOT the problem . It stopped working again today after being OK for three days. I was hoping that there would be some quirky fix, like you have to do when reprogramming a key fob! ( WE finally figured out the secret to opening all the windows with the key fob!
It’s hard to say. It is all guessing now at this point using the internet help me info?
We in the shop have had to remove bad sims(and other anomalous ECU or BCM) electrical conditions)then do a pass-through (some call this a flash) to the ECU with the most current program and then re-set everything. Then installing a new or verified working sim .
I do not recommend the DIY methods of discounting the battery and then reconnecting. While this may resolve some issues you could create other.

My car started rebooting a while back and as I am not the primary driver never acted upon it. Short story, the Nav constantly rebooted with or with the Nav card and dealer was happy to fix for $1400 (new CMU). Decided to but a used 2021 CMU with sw at 74.00 (mine was 59.0 and would have had to update to 70. and then to 74. Very easy to replace with all the YouTube videos. Turned the car on and booted right up and all functions working except of course the Nav as the SD card was not reinstalled.
Main problem with rebooting is can't see any info, access the sound system etc etc ... google maps works better then any of my cars Nav and probably will install Apple Play.
I am thinking of downloading Mazda Toolbox and see if it can read my 'bad?' card. My apple lptp was able to read the card but just files etc. Dealer wants $400 for new SD card. My card sn was listed in the TSB that was filed with the NHTSA but car is out of warranty.
Has anyone been able to update the SD card through Mazda Toolbox and if so, how much was it?
TIA
