Question Navigation or not?

My wife just bought a 2019 CX-5 Touring
The navigation screen says the "integrated system" needs to be installed to work....is that just the SD card or is there more to this to make it work?
I picked up an SD card on ebay and inserted it with no change in status....so I guessing either some software "switch" needs to be turned on OR an actual hardware install is needed.

Hoping its just a software setting

TIA

I believe the navigation should work as soon as you put in the SD Card. (Anyone - please correct me if I am wrong...)

Three questions:

Are you sure the SD Card has not been used on another vehicle? Once it has been used on one vehicle, it can not be used on another. I am not sure what error message you would receive.

Is the SD Card unlocked? It needs to be unlocked with the little switch on the card to work.

Are you sure the SD Card was fully inserted? eject it and re-enter it to make sure it is in all the way.

The seller on ebay sells many different cards for many vehicles and his rating is good.

The card was unlocked but I will look closer tonight

It only will go in one way and I tried inserting several times (side note: the card slot is in the center console and it is a PIA to get to with the lid standing up at 90 degrees. Being right handed I will try from the passenger side later) I will try again

BTW, I would guess it has the "system" hardware since it does give Lat and Long on the display in addition to a compass heading

Our systems are pretty fussy regarding the navigation SD card. I remember over on the CX-3 forum, a good number of people purchased navigation SD cards, mostly from Ebay sellers. Very mixed results; some actually worked, many did not.

All the system needs is a valid SD card inserted & you have full access to the SATNAV system.

Default I bought SD Card (TD2K66EZ1) on Ebay

I was also concerned when buying the Navi SD card from Ebay. Luckily, I had no problems whatsoever. The seller was in Eastern Europe so delivery took a good while.
I bought a 2021 CX-5 GTR at beginning of November 2021. I ordered the Navi SD on Nov 28th.
When I received the SD Navi, I inserted into the car's SD slot and it worked w/o any problems. Maybe I was lucky. I used part number TD2K66EZ1 and I cost me about $65USD. I see this part number is more expensive now. When ordering, make sure you order the correct part number for your car model and year.
In Feb 2022, I backed up the SD Card and I then updated the SD Card data. Again no problems whatsoever.

It is. They didn't change anything infotainment wise for '22. Same system as '21.
