More questions 2024 CX5
In my 2023 CX‑5 with the Mazda Infotainment system (10.25″ display), if I press and hold the volume ****, I hear a beep, and the entire infotainment system turns off, leaving a black screen with no clock.
If the infotainment system is on and I press the Home button twice, only the clock is displayed.

My experience with Mazda electronics - bluetooth/ Info etc has been great - My oldest Mazda 17 yrs - everything still works ! On the CX5 - try keeping the screen shaded when driving - direct sunlight heat will fry it -
Really ! How much did that cost to replace? That doesn't seem good!
On top of that, it also keeps the car cooler when you get in on hot summer days.
Keeping a small clean rag in the glove box and tossing it over the monitor can help reduce the direct sun on the monitor. Also a monitor top shade cover can reduce some of the heat and also glare on the monitor.
A black carpeted dash cover from DASH Designs or similar vendors can measurably reduce the heat radiated off the and directly on the dash substantially.

Another suggestion. You can get your windshield "tinted" with a very low percentage film (I had 10% used) so you can't tell there is a tint, but the film rejects UV like a darker film.
I understand the concept of protection from heat and cold for display screens.
However, I have never had an issue with any display screens (fish/depth/navigation) on any of my boats.
And they were on the boat 24/7 anywhere from -20 to 100+ degrees in bright sun, fog, rain, sleet, hail, ice and snow.
Perhaps the vehicle manufacturers need to use those display screens?

i very simply try to park in the shade and crack the tops of windows or maybe the sunroof...works fine to lessen the heat in the summer while at work, just have to keep an eye on the weather...rain guards would help but i don't want the added road noise...at home it's in the garage so no worries
