How does this Mazda app actually work? Is it over the cell network? Does the car actually send the mileage and other information to Mother Mazda and my phone just downloads it from a server or is it direct from the car to the phone?

 

Cell network is part of the equation. I'm curious myself how the data actually gets fed into the app.

 

I wish they would improve the app.
More real-time vehicle location would be a great improvement.
