Default Louy

Hi, my first post in this forum.
Looking forward to learning a lot.
my 2012 CX5 has just blown a head gasket, due to a slow radiator leak.
other than that it’s been a great car.
Its diesel with 180,000 kms on it.
my question is: if I go ahead and repair it what sort of kms can I expect?
ie: is it worth repairing or bite the bullet and trade in, as previously mentioned it’s a great car and would be happy to keep. Just unsure how many kms I should be expecting out of a diesel?

This is off topic and I would recommend in the future that you simply report a thread and your concerns.

Welcome to the forum.
Life expectancy of the CX-5 is 200,000 to 250,000 miles, or 320,000 to 400,000 kilometers.
The average kilometers expected from the diesel engine itself is 322,000 (200,000 miles).
That is without a blown head gasket, no way to know how much that has taken of the life cycle.
At 180K you'd be tossing the dice on a 12-year-old vehicle versus a trade.
I guess it depends on how your luck is at gambling
Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Louy,
