I LOVE my key pad on my F-150. Lots of people call it an old fashioned out dated thing but it is really useful. I am bad to run out in the evening after I have had a shower and my keys are on my dresser, it is handy to be able to pop in and out and get something. And I have used it to lock mine up in the summer running when my dog is with me while I run in the rest area to "rest" then come out and take him for his business..

I was missing something! :-) You're right locking with the key in the car is a puzzle.

UP DATE:
Stopped by a long established lock smith shop. They made be a couple of
pass keys off the little 'emergency' key in the remote. Fun getting it out and then back in.
Charged by $5 for the pair.
They worked too! The only odd thing was, as a 'two sided' key, only one side worked to un-lock
/lock the door.
So ask around.
