I just purchased a 2016 CX5 and it doesnt have mapping or that entertainment component.

Also, my Android Auto app will not work with the vehicle.

Firstly, can that issue be solved with the 2016 model?

Secondly, if so, will just purchasing the SD card and downloading it solve the issue? Or is there something else needed along with the SD card?

 

Do you have Android auto installed to the vehicle? They didn't have AA from factory.

No, it's not listed in my apps on the console. How do I get it downloaded to the car?

 

Dealer would need to do it if feasible for your model.

 

The dealer has to install Android Auto or the mapping upgrade?

 

You can either pay the dealer to install the software and hardware for AA / carplay, or buy a kit on eBay or AliExpress, download the software off the net ( at your risk) and install everything yourself.

What hardware is required? I didn't find any hardware offered with the SD cards online.

 

The Reaper is talking about the AA/Carplay hardware. If your vehicle has the SD port on the left side of the dash, it shouldn't need any hardware except the SD card for the Nav.
