Default Help! 2012 CX7 rainwater

Hello everyone

We have had some very heavy rain and I recently noticed there's alot of water in the passenger side footwell- both front and rear. Driver's side unaffected.
A common reported issue reported was a blocked AC drain hose but I can confirm this is not the issue.
Another common issue is from blocked drain pipes from the sunroof, but I do not have a sunroof.
Any help will be appreciated!

If you have a sunroof, this is also a symptom of a blocked sunroof drain.

Best thing to do is hop inside the car, while someone hoses down the outside of the car, hopefully you can ( with a torch ) locate the point of entry.

Did you find any solution? Because I'm having the same problem.

Not saying this is your problem, but here was another troublleshoot lesson I learned with my 2010 Lexus ES, which developed a vexing problem with water under the cabin carpeting here in hot and humid Fort Lauderdale. I discovered we carpeting, kept vacuuming water out of the carpet, but the water didn't seem to be related to rain. Lots and lots of water though--over a few weeks I probably vacuumed 20 gallons or more. It finally occurred to me that it might just be condensate from the air conditioning system. I took it to Kels, a renowned local automobile air conditioning company, and it look one of their vastly experienced techs less and 10 minutes to find that the condensate hose from the AC system had become dislodged, so the air conditioning condensate was draining right under the leading edge of the front carpet. With more than a few chuckles, they reconnected it free of charge and sent sent me on my way. I continued vacuuming carpet for a couple more weeks getting less each day, and eventually the rest of the water evaporated.

Passing my experience on because for me it was a great lesson learned! Knowing where to look, which the Kels tech did, was the key to solving the problem.

From my experience there has been the odd issue with the plug on the body side of the car "popping out of the hole" and the rubber boot let's water in. This is not always the case as there can also be a leak around the windscreen...water is a pain and will follow the path of least resistance. Best of luck mate.
