I totally understand. I'm the same way. When I first started looking at cars last year I test drove a Santa Fe and had wireless Car Play and a vertical slot you could just put your phone in to charge. That seemed really handy and was big on my list of things I "needed" for the next car. Most of the cars I looked at though might have either wireless cp or charging on higher end models but only both on the very top of the line. As convenient as it is (and not wearing out iphone cords like I seem to do once or twice a year) it wasn't worth a couple grand extra. I can plug the cord in and toss the phone in the center console.

I looked into the dongles last year and at least at that time the reliability seemed hit and miss so I didn't bother. As far as I know the 2021 GT actually has the hardware needed that wireless CP could work. I think the Canadian version might have it enabled. If they released a firmware version that enabled it and was stable I'd get a charging pad in a heartbeat but just having wireless charging and no CP (or vice versa) really seemed kind of pointless to me.
