Default Dash Cam Install on 2021 CX-5 GTR

looking at the Garmin Dash Cam 47 with constant power. Has anyone installed one of these? Best way to hard wire without having the interior look like black spaghetti?

I also thought I would not have the Parking feature using the dongle attached to the rear view mirror power ,

BUT , it DOES work perfectly ! I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5 . Below are photos of the unit I purchased. It is EXCELLENT

Can’t help you with the constant power but I did install Garmin 57 at the front & Garmin 47 at the rear on my CX-5 by myself & powered both through OBDII port using Garmin OBDII connector. Parking mode is not critical for me and I didn’t want to hardwire.

At least there is no power on 2020, It would also be strange if the mirror dazzled down in P and the car was abandoned

I used the cigarette lighter between the seats in the arm rest because its always on with no problems. Pretty easy to hide the cords.

Good thought and install on your NEW dash cam
Unless you smoke: Cigarette power outlets are becoming extinct in vehicles. They are also prone to problems unless you carefully read the power requirements anything you plug into them. Dash cam is fine. You might want to consider pulling it and installing a simple dual USB port in its place.
