Dead Battery-charge before replacing

Default Dead Battery-charge before replacing
Our 2018 CX 5 has a dead battery. Should I put the battery on a charger while I go out to get a new battery in an attempt to save the memory. Normally, a put a new battery on a charger before I install in a car. Is this over kill or a good practice?

That is a personal prerace question. The failed battery should still have 9-10+ volts which will hold memory of anything on your Mazda.
