Default CX 5 engine water problem

Hi guys, I recently bought one used cx 5, 2.2 diesel awd sport with 175 hp 2012 model and it seems that there is a problem with the radiator water. I check when the car is cold and the water lever is normal but while driving I smell radiator water. I stop and to my surprise i see that the plastic radiator tank is full and the engine full of spill drops from the overfloating of the small white plastic tank. I returned the car for checking to the garage but they didnt find anything. The car has 45,000 miles and generally is in perfect condition. Can you please give me your suggestions where the problem is? The engine fan ets are working proberly and the heat lamp in the dashboard has never been red while driving. Thnx

Probably the problem has to do with the water pump? It does not circulate the water, is not cooled down and it goes into the plastic tank, thus the overfloating?
