I have a 96 Millenia and in the recent few months it has started leaking great volumes of water into the driver's foot well. There is a great deal of water after each rain so the hole is readily accessible to runoff. I have run a water hose over the car and have been unable to locate the problem. The firewall in the engine compartment always appears dry. Inspection from the inside showed that bolts coming through the fire wall had leakage and rust on them but from above. The insulation near the gas pedal seems to be the wettest and I have been unable to identify a specific location due to the amount of stuff down there.

Does anyone know of a specific culprit or have run into similar problems? What did you have to do to fix it?

Water leaks can be a bear to find sometimes. I have chased quite a few and water can get in from the strangest places. You would think water can run uphill sometimes! I've had to remove the dash sometimes to locate, but it's difficult to diagnose without seeing the car. One big question, does the car have a sunroof? The reason I ask because if it does the drain tubes can get plugged and water will get into the car that way.

 

It does have an aftermarket sunroof installed by the original dealer. I will check the drain tubes. Thanks
