Check Engine Code
Hey guys. I have a 2015 CX-5 that has a check engine light on. I used a code reader to read the code. It's the P011A code. It looks like they're could be an issue with the engine coolant temperature. From some basic research, it looks like it could be a bad sensor or wire. My car could even need a software update, according to some cases. The light was on a couple of months ago when it got very cold out (in the negatives). After realizing that the car needed more oil, the light went away. It's now back on again and all of the fluids are where they should be. I use my car a lot to get to work, a 65 mile round-trip commute 5 days a week. I haven't noticed it acting unusual. It's been acting normal this entire time since the light came back on a week ago. Has anyone else dealt with this issue before? I'll probably just have to take the car to a mechanic, but I wanted to hear how others have handled this situation. Thanks!
The DTC information is only partial. I would suggest NOT jump at the conclusion based on internet surfing for what that DTC is to start a service on it.
Go back and Scan the complete main 3 area's of your ECU first.
Then step 2 may be posted by myself or another member what to do next. or you can search various threads and see how to properly scan an ECU and what to do ?
You will find other alerts...in the scan!
For all reading the check engine light never means oh I need to check something in the future. It means get that something checks ASAP when the engine check light first appears!
