CD Player that will work with 2021 CX-5
I don't think the CX-5 will support USB to audio adapters. They are mainly used on computers or cell phones.
I was a little disappointed too my 2021.5 CX 5 did not have the Aux jack as well. They took it away with the new 10.25 infotainment system. Luckily my MP3 player has built in Bluetooth so I just use that.

I ended up buying a Bluetooth CD player from Amazon. I often have issues getting it to connect with the car, but when it does, it works okay. I only wanted it to sometimes listen to audiobooks that I borrow from the library, so burning CDs to a USB drive was not really the way I wanted to go.
Yes, you can burn CDs to a USB and play in the car, the port is in the center arm rest compartment. When you select to play USB each album shows up as a folder that you select and play. I use a 128 memory stick in my 2021. Try to record in FLAC for better audio quality. Takes a lot more space, but USB stick are cheap.
I was furious to discover after paying $1400 for the Dolby system it didn't include SiriusXM built in nor the Aux jack to add it. I've been tempted to rip the entire system out, or just sell the car I was so pissed off. The only way to get that AUX jack is to buy the Canadian version. That's the picture in the manual.
As a solution, I added a larger SIM card to my phone & copied roughly 50G in my digital music to my phone. Now I can at least listen to something other than the radio via Bluetooth.

Yes, that's sad. The suv that has built in cd player is Lexus RX 350 as standard equipment. I have just ordered CX 5 in Toronto, so lets see if it has AUX jack. I very much doubt it, as USA and Canada generally have same specs.

I also suggest just to convert your CD's to mp3 format and store on a USB memory stick. I use iTunes on a PC but there are other software programs as well.

Very convenient and you do not need to carry many CD's or have a multiple CD changer. Navigating through the songs/albums is easy since they will be stored in a folder format on your USB memory stick.

So you'd need to rip the CDs with FLAC originally before downloading to the USB. Otherwise you are starting with too much loss to reconstruct to higher sampling.
I look forward to hearing what you find when you get your car.
