Default AuX Jack for cd player in cx 5, 2021.5 Signature model?

I am currently waiting for my dealer to call me to pickup my new order of Signature CX 5. The dealer has told me it takes two weeks to arrive. Lets see. This dealer has zero stock here in Toronto, but other dealers still have some cars.
There is a subtle difference between 2021 and 2021.5 models. Ie, like auto braking when in reverse and larger 10.25 inch screen.
once i get the car, i will give you an update. There are Mazda specs for all cx 5 models for 2021.5 but its a big pdf file. Noy sure if it would mention the AUX port.

Not sure if Canada is different but the 10.25" screen was released for '21 in the US. Are you getting the updated '22 model (with the painted plastic trim and new lights) or a '21?

The 2021.5 cx 5 is not the new 2022 that is about to be released in USA first. We in Canada, will get that probably after all the USA dealers get theirs. Hence, i took this older model. Also the newer model will probably cost more, and i don't trust the Canadian Gov't, because they already put up import taxes on jaguar from uk, by as much as 16k overnight. The country is hard up for cash because of covid expense. I understand from utube videos, that the 2022 will have 6 cyl option, better seats, tuned suspension and reprogrammed transmission, but not 2 more gears, which is what it really needs.

The '22 will soldier on with the same drive train as '21. 6sp auto and 2.5l in turbo and non turbo variants. They are just doing some minor exterior changes to the bumpers, headlights/tail lights, wheels and lower trim as well as revised seats and a couple of added drive modes.. So what is different about the 21.5 in Canada? Did you have a '21 with a smaller 8" nav screen and now are getting the 10.25" screen?

Yes, good idea! I am going to do that in the future. At the time I bought my CX-5, I had already reserved a couple of books on CD from my local library as my prior car had a CD player.

This is the CD Player I ended up purchasing. I did have problems every time I used it because it wouldn't stay paired with my Mazda CX-5. Sometimes I could re-pair it and other times I could not. The last audiobook I listened to I ended up using the headphones instead of trying to do the audio through the car.

Thank you LaurelV for your info. I mostly will buy the same. As to the Bluetooth pairing, mostly the CD player wont be able to pair with the car (also mentioned by other similar CD players). What I want to try is to buy a 3.5mm to USB connector. I plan to plug the 3.5mm into CD player's Aux/out port and USB site into the USB port in the central box (where the Aux port is missing). If not working, I will buy a FM transmitter to allow audio in from aux/out of the CD player. That should work. I will post back after I try it. The car is great. I like it except the missing CD player and aux/in. I even emailed Mazda. they were sorry on the mis-info mentioned in the window sticker where it mentioned the availability of an aux port.)

i just got my new cx 5 (2021.5 model year) this week. It only has two usb ports inside the arm rest. Why did they not put the ports under the front dash, i don't know. They are difficult to access and now i have a trailing wire from arm rest to the storage tray under the dash/heater controls, where i rest my phone. The best thing i did was buy the MAP option on Signature model. I think u get 3 or 4 years of navigation which is great. But maps will get out of date over time. The navigation maps are excellent. I will have to copy my cds on to a memory card and insert in my smart phone. That's a pain.

You can update the maps anytime with the Mazda Toolbox app. There is usually at least one yearly update and with the subscription, you get three years. After that you have to pay for updates, or you can just purchase a new map card off eBay for $60 and start the 3-year cycle over.
