Car washes

The manual advises not to take a Solterra through a power car wash because of the power spray getting into the traction battery and charger connection. I live and drive on dirt roads a lot, and also salted pavement in winter. The traction battery must be coated in mud, salt etc. is that harming the battery? What is best to do? Try to use a garden hose on it? Not try to wash it? Drive in puddles?

And I am sure this thread will now for a short time come back to life......
Some threads should be left to fade away......it is always a good idea to look at the last date response before deciding to jump in and respond and bring them back to life?
The problem with most all contact car washes is the condition of the brushes that touch the car. And most do not use enough car wash soap to be better effective at cleaning. No one that values there vehcle should use them better to find that group of kids doing cars washes for funds then any brick-and-mortar car wash facility. This is naturally not including professional detail shops or come to your home Mobil detail business.
And I am sure this thread will now for a short time come back to life......
