US 2019 CX5 diesel Signature
Greetings All. I'm new to forums. As stated in title, i have one of - i don't know how many were sold here in US, curious if anyone has that number - CX5 diesel. I was previously a diehard Volkswagen driver of manual transmissions and diesel motors with awesome MPGs, and longevity. My 2001 Jetta had 357,000 miles when i totaled it; I still mourn that car
Alas, VW lost me in 2012 with the downward spiral of quality and "diesel-gate". So I bought my first Mazda3 hatchback and loved driving it. I missed the MPGs of my VeeWee but it was fun to drive. I then traded for the 2019 diesel which had 30,000 miles on it, hoping for similar longevity with the diesel motor and maybe better MPGs than a gas SUV. MPGs have been disappointing but it's been a fine car. It's coming up to 80,000 miles and i'm wondering if the motor will last. I continue to take it to the dealer for all scheduled maintenance. I'm looking for your knowledgeable opinions on the lifespan and expectations of this car. Will it continue to be relatively trouble free with continued routine care or are there big problems looming down the road? Should i sell it before i put too many more miles on it? Thank you all your input. Peace.

The key is as you have been doing….keep up on the service and do some services that are not on the list. What you reach 40k miles find an independent service shop to do a simple oil pan oil pan filter and fluid change of you automatic transmission fluid.
Dont read or watch information claiming you don’t need it. You will totally understand if you ask to see the pan before they clean it and the pan magnet.
as for mpg you jetta was about 2900 lbs and your new Mazda is almost 4000 lbs … nuff said
