Default Try a little Rain-X

My biggest complaint wasn't so much with resolution as much as when it rains it constantly gets water drops on it making it almost useless. I just kept thinking they could have recessed it (or embedded it) in the tailgate a little better.
Now that I've seen hers at night, I see a big difference in resolution. I'm wondering if there isn't a possible upgrade you can get for it aftermarket.
Anyway, it's low on the priority list for me but thought I'd throw my two cents in.

P.S. I do like the idea of installing a switch to be able to use it without putting it into reverse.
I tried wiping the lens of the camera with a little Rain-X and it seems to help the water droplets sheet off. I agree the camera should of been placed better to prevent this problem in the first place.

Default Driving and Backing Up...

Now that I think about it you're most likely right. After all, it would seem like one spends 99% of the time driving forward... but only 1% of the time backing up.

Old thread, but here's my two cents worth on the backup camera on my 2018 CX-5 Grand Touring: total pixelated crap day and night! Was actually looking for information on replacing it with anything better??

Hey Mach1-- that's some lame/immature replies and justification-- what are you, like 12-yo?! Actually-- you deserved every reply from original poster to your inane comments. Go someplace else-- you ARE a punka$$ troll. Original poster was just trying to get some help in a supposedly friendly forum.

I just bought 2014 CX-5 and the back up camera is always blurry on the view screen. I've gently wiped cleaned the camera, still very blurry. Any suggestions? for example replace camera, go after market, etc.?

Chances are very good that after ten years, the camera on the rear hatch is scratched or otherwise compromised. Replacing the camera is a lot cheaper and easier than replacing the head unit. Mine is starting to get that way, more often when the weather is damp, so I'm suspecting to replace it soon.
