Default Apple car play issue (hard wired)

Been noticing that half the speakers go out on Apple car play. It’s a wired connection. In a cx5 2020.

Bluetooth music is fine a no issue.

I changed the cable to a brand new one, I assume that the connection in the arm rest is bad. I may have noticed it was loose feeling. My daughter said the issue happened to her as well after I changed the cable.

The dealer told me there was a software update for 100 dollars, didn’t do that yet.

wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue.

2. Is there a different usb to plug in for car play?

I believe the armrest is the only USB to connect the CP/AA. At least in my '21 that is how it works.

"19" is correct on the USB.
I use the audio out on an old phone which I converted to a music player only.
Plug into the audio in off the console and us the "AUX" setting for music.
