Anyone have this issue? Using CarPlay on my 2019 CX5, running iOS map app - the iphone will disconnect and reconnect Carplay randomly and intermittently. All other apps on iphone are closed - any thoughts appreciated.

 

I use maps in CarPlay all the time, I’ve not had this intermittent issue happen. However, I did have the iPhone completely disconnect once, that was due to a broken Lightning cable. Cheap cables just don’t last, and even genuine Apple cables wear out, as mine did. I went with a 12” Anker Powerline II cable, tough, flexible and the short length makes it more convenient for me. Some folks think a 12” cable is too short, they use the 3’ cable.

Another cause could be the USB port, but I’d try the cable first.

 

Try a new cable or two. No issues on my 2021 and I have been using a cheap Amazon Basics cable. Also you can try with an Android phone and if it happens on that one then it could be your port or head unit.
