Default Android Auto issues

Recently I accidently inserted, in a hurry! the wrong end of my USB cable into the smart phone connector under the arm rest, up to that point the AA was working fine. Now when connected to the smart phone USB socket the phone charges for around 10 seconds then stops, obviously AA is not working!! The other USB is working fine. Its a 2020 model.
I have checked the USB fuse, all OK...
Help!!...any suggestions please??
Thank you.

Not certain how you could do that without damaging the USB port or the cord or both.
The fact that you have no fuse issues, my opinion would be:
You may have a damaged USB cord, try a different one; easy and cheap to do.
If that doesn't work you've probably damaged the USB port which will require replacing; not so easy and not cheap.
And then it may be something completely different as AA software requires all hardware to be perfect to work.

Hi Lobstah, thank you for your suggestions, much appreciated.
I have tried another USB cable, same issue.
I checked the smart phone USB port, and without removing it, looked OK.
I'll remove it and have a closer inspection.
As the phone charges for around 10 secs and stops, I'm wondering if the 5v supply to the socket has been damaged, due to a short cct with maybe the data cable, and the current required to charge the phone from the smart phone socket is insufficient to allow a continuous current flow??
As the other adjacent USB socket can charge the phone ok, Im wondering if there is a seperate fuse for the smart phone socket?, but I cheched both 7.5 A fuses in the footwell, both ok..
Thank you again,
Best regards,

I'm not certain on that point as I hate cellphones.
When they came into inception, I was put on call 24/7.
Being retired now I only have a flip phone in my vehicle for emergency use only and I charge that in my house.
I believe not all the USB ports in our vehicles are capable of charging certain phones and other devices.
A software glitch with AA can cause your issue. perhaps a reload is required?

It sounds to me as if you damaged the USB socket which is going to hurt a bit to replace.
