I follow this forum. I had a 2016.5 Grand Touring and now have a 2021 Signature. I've not read anything to indicate the 2018 has any problems with reliability compared to the other years. It sounds like you are getting a decent car at a decent price. I had 98,000 miles on the 2016.5 and not problems with it at all. I'm sure others will chime in, but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

You may want to check out cylinder deactivation issues. I have read a few things about it but since I don’t have it I really did not retain details

You probably want to check on this with a 2018: https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/maz...-gasket-45796/

I bought a 2018 Sport new. Zero problems. I can feel the cylinder deactivation turning off and on, but there's nothing I really don't like about the car. My other car is a 1996 Miata, I just like how Mazdas handle.

Had three before the CX-5 and I can say the CX-5 is ALMOST as much fun.
