I am not sure about using the senior as any degree of how you drive! I live in a retirement community and these "seniors drive" worse than a high schooler. They never stop completely at STOP signs if the MPH limit is 5mph they think that means 30mph, driving down the center of the road seems to work better for them. They always park on the sidewalk, make unsafe U-turns no matter what the traffic condition are, or it the sign is NO U-TURNs. And my all-time favorite that because they are 65+ they seem to feel they have the right to park in Handicapped even if not allowed to with a plate or place card? Seldom do they ever use a turn signal they just assume you will know what their intentions are?
And that is just in their gulf carts, I did forget to mention I live in a golf cart community. In their vehicles they are worse got a few dash cam near misses to prove that! ROLMAO!

I am sure it is much the same in places in Florida as well?

I think that it goes well beyond the senior communities. I live in a community that adjoins Indian Hill where the Fleishman and Kroger estates among others are located. When driving through that area, drivers vary their speeds from ten mph under to 20 mph over the limit, stop signs seem to be voluntary and center lines often seem to be viewed as a device to center the car on. Extra care must be taken on curves as drivers in Mercedes and Land Rovers use the entire road to go through them. The deer don't pay attention to the rules of the road either.

Very much so. I've been going there every month or two seeing my girlfriend and her family. We've also drove from MA to FL multiple times. Everyone including the older majority whip their cars around there to say the least. When I come back to Massachusetts, I get tested everyday with older people especially going 25-30 MPH in a 45 MPH...

We either think alike and have tested engines for this statement or you are just copying my EXACT response?
You even used my method of bold letters and BLUE color

The blue lettering BTW when I use it is more or less to support that I am an ASE.

2023 Non Turbo Carbon Edition - 1200 miles on odometer- 26 mpg mostly rural driving, 32 mpg highway driving on 87 octane. Very satisfied with these numbers and if they improve as the engine breaks in all the better. Not sure what effect having 19 inch wheels has on fuel economy if any. I have heard that it may lower my actual mpg.

Aloha,
I have a 2023 non-turbo AWD CX-5. Mostly driven around town, with occasional longer runs, but keep it mind I live on Oahu and nowhere is really all that far, maybe 20/25 miles. the vehicle is approximately 9 months old and I'm averaging 21 MPG. Can anyone comment on that? It seems low, but I'd rather have facts than what something seems like...
Mahalo!

Once your engine starts breaking in the mileage should get better. If you do a lot of short trips around town then that's why your gas mileage is bad. As soon as you drive on the highway it should increase a lot more. I'd recommend using the Carfax Car Care app to track your gas fill ups and know your exact mileage.

This is not what one would call average or normal at those speeds. The aerodynamics work against you at any speed above 60mph with most platforms and model shapes like the MAZDA.

Not to worry your good!
There are so many variables but most of my friends in the Islands do not get anywhere close to the average MPG as we do here in the mainland.
